After graduating from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1985 with a degree in ceramics, Mimi co-founded a studio business in Bucks county,Pennsylvania. Decoratta, a handmade production tile studio, focusing on the design, production and installation of tile mosaics for architectural applications.
While she dedicated the early pat of her career to ceramics, her interest in materials redirected her focus and her work began to incorporate other mediums including wood, metal, fabric and paper. Currently her work focus is on welded steel sculpture. Working predominantly with salvaged and found stock parts, she continues to explore botanical and natural themes.
Mimi has been a studio artist since 1985 and has been working in Asheville, North Carolina since 1996. Currently here sculpture studio is located in West Asheville.
